Engineering Manager - AI Compute Platform

As our customers rapidly adopt LLMs and Generative AI for their business, we’re building the next-generation AI platform to accelerate their development. We’re seeking a dedicated engineering team lead to drive building our next-generation AI compute platform that’s optimized for LLMs and distributed training.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a talented engineering team to build services and runtime to scale customers’ AI workloads.
- Drive strategic vision for the team and product. Simplify the product experience for creating AI models and workflows. Drive adoption of key ML capabilities.
- Develop engineering leaders and support engineers in their career development.
- Grow the team by hiring strong engineering talent.
- Implement robust processes to efficiently execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
What we look for:
- 5+ years experience working in cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Experience building, growing and managing high performance teams.
- Effective in working cross-functionality with product management, and directly with customers; ability to deeply understand customer needs.
- Experience defining and meeting SLOs for highly available systems
- Ability to attract and hire engineers who meet the Databricks hiring standards.
- Experience building AI/ML infrastructure (highly preferred)
- BS in Computer Science or related field (Masters or PhD Preferred)

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
